Iraqi President Nizar Amedi emphasized on Tuesday the importance of enhancing the role of professional syndicates in providing state institutions with specialized expertise.
According to a statement from the Presidency, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the President met at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad with a delegation from the Iraqi Chemists Syndicate, headed by Fares Mohsen Al-Yaqubi. The delegation extended their congratulations on his assumption of office and wished him success in his duties.
The meeting discussed ways to support scientific and chemical professionals, as well as to develop laboratories and research institutions in a manner that serves the health, industrial, and environmental sectors.
The President highlighted the need to strengthen the role of professional syndicates in supplying government institutions with specialized expertise, stressing the importance of leveraging Iraqi talents across various fields and creating an enabling environment for creativity and innovation.
Separately, the President received a message at Al-Salam Palace from South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, delivered by South Korea’s ambassador to Iraq, Lee Joon-il, congratulating him on assuming the presidency.
In his message, the South Korean President reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Iraq and advancing cooperation across multiple sectors in pursuit of mutual interests. He also expressed Seoul’s aspiration to expand economic and investment cooperation and support Iraq’s reconstruction and development efforts.
In response, President Amedi conveyed his greetings to President Lee Jae-myung, underscoring the depth of Iraqi–South Korean relations and the shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in ways that meet the aspirations of both friendly peoples for progress and prosperity.
