Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, emphasized on Monday the importance of concerted efforts to form a national unity government that represents all Iraqi communities.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister-designate Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, on Monday."
"The meeting addressed the overall situation in the country and the importance of concerted efforts to form a national unity government that represents all Iraqi communities and meets the aspirations of the citizens. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of intensifying efforts to meet the demands of the current phase, which necessitates strengthening coordination and cooperation among political forces and overcoming obstacles to enhance stability and find solutions to all existing problems in accordance with the law and the approved constitutional frameworks."
According to the statement, Barzani renewed his congratulations to Al-Zaidi on his official appointment to form the new government, wishing him success in his national duty. Al-Zaidi, in turn, expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the President of the Region, and his keenness to support the steps taken to form the new cabinet, in a way that serves the higher interests of our country.
