The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, and President Nizar Amidi emphasized on Monday the importance of accelerating the pace of political agreements in accordance with constitutional requirements and fulfilling the aspirations of the Iraqi people for stability and improved services.
The media office of the head of the State of Law Coalition stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, received President Nizar Amidi at his office this evening."
"During the meeting, they discussed the latest political developments in the country, as well as the ongoing dialogues between political forces to form a government."
"Both sides stressed the importance of accelerating the pace of political agreements in accordance with constitutional requirements and fulfilling the aspirations of the Iraqi people for stability and improved services."
According to the statement, both sides emphasized "the necessity of prioritizing the national interest and strengthening political consensus to support the political process and consolidate stability in the country."
