First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi said on Sunday that several key draft laws are on the legislature’s agenda, noting that the oil and gas law and the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) law are among the top priorities.
Fayhan told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that parliamentary committees had begun their work after being formed within the parliament to review draft laws and submit them to the presidency of parliament.
He added that committees had already started work on a package of laws that have been presented for first reading, with another batch to be gradually included on the agenda according to their importance.
Fayhan said a number of important laws would be among the priorities of political forces and the federal government for inclusion on the parliament’s agenda, reiterating that the oil and gas law and the PMF law would be at the forefront of parliament’s work.
