Iraqi Securities Commission announced on Sunday the adoption of an electronic signature within the national authentication system.
Chairman of the Commission, Faisal Al-Haimus, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the authority had completed procedures to register with the national electronic signature authentication system, becoming the first government entity in Iraq to implement the mechanism.
He added that the move aligns with broader government efforts to modernize public services and strengthen e-governance, contributing to improved institutional efficiency and higher levels of transparency and accuracy in transaction processing.
Al-Haimus noted that adopting the electronic signature represents a qualitative shift in the commission’s operations, reflecting its commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to streamline procedures and accelerate transaction completion, thereby enhancing institutional performance and service delivery.
He emphasized that the implementation of the electronic signature system would facilitate the processing of official transactions both within and outside the commission, support a digital work environment, and bolster investor confidence in the financial market.
