Salah al-Din Criminal Court on Sunday sentenced a man to two years of rigorous imprisonment for possessing medicines and medical supplies that had not undergone laboratory testing, the Supreme Judicial Council said.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the council said the court had convicted the defendant after authorities found 25,100 pills in his possession, which he intended to trade without an official license from the relevant authorities.
The statement added that the ruling was issued in accordance with Resolution No. 39/1/C of 1994, in conjunction with Articles 47, 48 and 49 of the Iraqi Penal Code relating.
