Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty discussed on Saturday, during a telephone call with his Pakistani counterpart Muhammad Ishaq Dar, ways to enhance joint coordination between the two countries, in light of developments in the regional situation.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that "the call addressed the efforts made to advance the diplomatic track between the United States and Iran, as the two ministers expressed their hope for a new round of negotiations that would contribute to reaching understandings that support the consolidation of the ceasefire, reduce escalation, and pave the way for ending the existing conflict."

Both sides affirmed that “dialogue and negotiation represent the best path to resolving crises,” stressing at the end of the call “the importance of continuing consultation and joint coordination in order to enhance security and stability in the region.”
