Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani affirmed on Tuesday the government’s commitment to supporting local governments and provincial councils.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Al-Sudani met with the newly appointed Governor of Kirkuk, Mohammed Sam’an Kanaan, congratulating him on gaining the confidence of the Provincial Council and wishing him success in his upcoming duties.
The statement added that the meeting reviewed the overall conditions in the province, with the Prime Minister following up on plans and procedures related to developing the services sector in Kirkuk. This falls within a broader program aimed at enhancing public services to ensure the province’s stability and meet the needs of its residents across all sectors.
Al-Sudani emphasized the government’s keenness to support and empower local governments and provincial councils in carrying out their responsibilities, in order to implement service and development projects that will improve the province’s conditions and advance its economic reality.
