President Nizar Amedi on Tuesday extended his condolences over the passing of Hussein Mohammed Hadi Al-Sadr, noting that the late scholar devoted his life to serving religion and society.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the President said: “With deep sorrow and grief, we have received the news of the passing of the eminent scholar, His Eminence Sayyid Hussein Mohammed Hadi Al-Sadr (may he rest in peace), who stood as a model of a distinguished religious authority, an enlightened thinker, and a man of high morals whose influence left a profound impact on his followers and students.”

He added that the late Al-Sadr contributed significantly through his extensive knowledge across various fields, dedicating his life to the service of religion and society. “He was a voice of wisdom and moderation, and a guiding light in the fields of knowledge and scholarship,” the statement noted.

The President continued: “On this grave occasion, we extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the esteemed Al-Sadr family, the relatives of the deceased, and his admirers, praying to Almighty God to grant them patience and solace, and to bestow His vast mercy upon the departed and grant him a place in His eternal paradise. Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return.”
