SJC Approves Judicial Appointments and Court Restructuring

Supreme Judicial Council on Thursday approved a number of judicial appointments and endorsed administrative restructuring in several appellate court presidencies.

According to a statement issued by the Council’s media office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Supreme Judicial Council held its eighth session under the chairmanship of the President of the Federal Court of Cassation, Judge Faiq Zidan.

The statement added that the session included a tribute to the late Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Public Prosecution Office in Basra, Nadhem Shueir Hamadi, who recently passed away. The Council also approved the transfer and secondment of a number of judges and public prosecutors.

The statement further noted that judicial positions were granted and organizational formations in several appellate court presidencies were approved in accordance with the requirements of the public interest.
