Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that two vessels were involved in an incident in the Strait of Hormuz, while two others turned back after receiving warnings, adding that no oil, gas or chemical fertilizer shipments would be allowed to pass through the strategic waterway without its authorization.
In a statement followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the IRGC said four vessels had disabled their navigation systems and attempted to leave the strait through what it described as an unsafe route with U.S. support.
The IRGC said its forces had "full control" over the Strait of Hormuz and that the only safe shipping lane was the one designated and announced by the Iranian side.
It added that "not a single drop" of oil, gas or chemical fertilizer would pass through the Strait of Hormuz without prior authorization from the IRGC.
