The spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Sabah Al-Numan said on Saturday that the planned visit of Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ali Falih Al-Zaidi to Washington represents a pivotal strategic step.
Al-Numan told the Iraqi News Agency that the upcoming official visit by Al-Zaidi, who will head a high-level Iraqi delegation to the U.S. capital, reflects “the reality of a new Iraq marked by stability, growth and sovereignty.”
He added that Iraq is undertaking this international tour from a position of strength and sustained stability, grounded in a significant on-the-ground and sovereign reality: the state’s decisive transition toward a phase of strengthened security capabilities and comprehensive strategic development.
The spokesperson said the overall vision of the visit is founded on a close linkage between preserving Iraq’s security gains and advancing economic growth, a dynamic that would open broad opportunities for international partnerships and major global companies through the activation of joint strategic frameworks that safeguard Iraq’s sovereign interests and support the stability of the domestic investment environment.
Al-Numan concluded by saying that the comprehensive security environment established by Iraq’s security forces and their sacrifices now constitutes a solid foundation for achieving qualitative advances in reconstruction and development.
“These international moves seek to harness this stability to create prosperity and build strong state institutions, so that Iraq remains a regional model distinguished by a new vision that safeguards sovereignty and promotes welfare,” he said.
