Supreme Committee for Mass Pilgrimages says flexible, integrated plan prepared for Arbaeen Pilgrimage

The Supreme Committee for Mass Pilgrimages said on Saturday that it had prepared a flexible and integrated plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (PBUH) to manage transportation and ensure the smooth return of pilgrims without obstacles.

The Security Media Cell said in a statement that Lieutenant General Staff Qais Al-Muhammadawi, deputy commander of the Joint Operations Command and head of the Supreme Committee for Mass Pilgrimages, chaired an expanded conference at the command headquarters on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by the assistant chief of staff for operations, the commander of the ground forces, commanders and directors from the defense and interior ministries, the Popular Mobilization Forces, Baghdad Operations Command and its affiliated commands. It also included commanders of operations in Karbala, Basra, Maysan and Diyala via video conference to discuss the implementation of plans for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to the statement, the conference reviewed the latest security and service preparations and distributed responsibilities across areas of operation, with a focus on intensifying proactive intelligence efforts to secure the routes used by pilgrims arriving from within Iraq and abroad.

Al-Muhammadawi stressed the importance of close coordination among security agencies and service and health departments to ensure the smooth flow of movement, provide the best possible services to pilgrims and remove all obstacles to guarantee the success of the security and service plan for the pilgrimage.

The deputy commander of the Joint Operations Command issued several recommendations, including raising the level of readiness and vigilance at border crossings and on all routes leading to Karbala, and strengthening cooperation with Hussaini procession organizers and local authorities.

He affirmed that a flexible and integrated plan had been prepared to manage transportation and ensure the smooth return of pilgrims without any impediments, noting that coordination among security forces and supporting ministries is the fundamental basis for achieving the objectives of the plan.
