President Amedi stresses the importance of advancing trade as a driver of sustainable economic growth

President Nizar Amedi received Minister of Trade Mustafa Al-Ani at Baghdad Palace.

“The meeting focused on developments in Iraq's trade sector and efforts to strengthen the country's economic stability. President Amedi stressed the importance of advancing trade as a driver of sustainable economic growth, calling for continued efforts to support the national economy and reinforce Iraq's position as a regional commercial hub,” stated The Presidency of The Republic in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.

The statement added, “The President also underscored the need to ensure the regular and uninterrupted supply of essential commodities through the Public Distribution System (ration card), emphasizing that maintaining a reliable flow of basic goods is vital to preserving market stability, strengthening food security, and safeguarding the livelihoods of citizens, particularly low-income families.”

Minister Al-Ani, in turn, briefed the President on the Ministry's plans and ongoing measures to secure food supplies and ensure the timely distribution of ration card allocations in line with approved programmes. He also highlighted efforts to expand trade cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, attract new investment partnerships, and create additional commercial opportunities that support Iraq's economic growth and meet the needs of the domestic market.
