Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi met with the head of the National Security Service, Basim Muhammad Yunis al-Badri, on Wednesday to discuss several issues related to the agency's work and supporting its efforts to protect national security and enhance stability.
The Speaker's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi received the new head of the National Security Service, Basim Muhammad Yunis al-Badri."
The statement added that "at the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker congratulated al-Badri on assuming his new duties, wishing him success."
It noted that "the meeting discussed several issues related to the agency's work and supporting its efforts to protect national security and enhance stability."
