The leader of the Shiite National Movement, Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, praised the role of the judiciary and Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on Monday following a campaign of arrests targeting corrupt officials.
Al-Sadr said in a post on the (X) platform, monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "What Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi has done through the campaign of arrests targeting corrupt individuals is a heroic reform campaign that we hope will continue,this campaign has restored hope in our hearts and the hearts of the Iraqi people after the corrupt seized control of the nation's resources."
Al-Sadr commended,” the role of the Iraqi judiciary and the brave security forces, especially the Counter-Terrorism and anti-corruption units.”
Sayyid Al-Sadr called on Friday prayer leaders to organize a peaceful gathering next Friday in support of the reform campaign, with only the banners of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and the Iraqi flag to be raised,he concluded by saying: "May you be rewarded abundantly on behalf of us and the homeland."
