The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, and the Speaker of the Qatari Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim, emphasized on Saturday the importance of supporting efforts aimed at establishing security and stability, and strengthening dialogue and cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the region's peoples.
The Iraqi Parliament Speaker's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, met with the Speaker of the Qatari Shura Council, Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim, on the sidelines of the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments held in Cairo."
The statement added that "during the meeting, they discussed relations between the two brotherly countries, and parliamentary cooperation and coordination in international forums regarding issues of common interest."
The statement continued, "The meeting addressed developments in the region, and emphasized the importance of supporting efforts aimed at establishing security and stability, and strengthening dialogue and cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the region's peoples."
