English striker Ivan Toni, currently playing for Al-Ahli Saudi FC, has returned to Manchester United's radar during the summer transfer window, as the English club seeks to bolster its attacking options ahead of the new season.
Media outlets reported that "Tony is admired by Manchester United's management, but his high salary with Al-Ahli and the player's desire to remain in the Saudi league are the main obstacles to completing the deal."
They added that "Al-Ahli has not yet decided whether to sell its striker, who is under contract for two more years, as the club is keen to retain one of its key players after his outstanding performance last season."
Tony scored 32 goals in 32 appearances in the Roshan League last season, since joining Al-Ahli from Brentford in the summer of 2014.
