Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Tuesday that no negotiations regarding ballistic missiles have taken place and that none will take place in the future.
Pezeshkian stated during a press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “we are holding firmly to our strengths in the upcoming negotiations,” stressing that “no negotiations regarding ballistic missiles have taken place, nor will they take place.”
“We appreciate Pakistan’s role in facilitating the negotiations and helping to reach the memorandum of understanding,” he added.
Pezeshkian noted that “we discussed current developments in the region and the world with the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan.”
He affirmed that the Pakistani Prime Minister and Army Chief exerted significant efforts during the negotiations, adding, “We appreciate their role.”
“We believe that the progress of the West Asia region depends on peace, security, and regional cooperation,” he continued.
Pezeshkian stressed that “we do not trust the United States because it attacked us twice during the negotiations, but we remain ready for dialogue and peace.”
