The US Central Command announced today the lifting of the blockade on maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with directives from the US presidency.
In a statement carried by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Central Command said, "US forces have completely ceased all measures to enforce the naval blockade," emphasizing that they "will not intercept or impede the movement of ships and tankers to and from Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman."
"Major US naval assets will remain stationed in the region to ensure full compliance with all provisions of the agreement and its precise implementation," the statement added.
