Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi emphasized to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Monday the importance of all parties respecting Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
A statement from the Lebanese Presidency, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), indicated that "Lebanese President Joseph Aoun received a phone call from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqhchi, during which they discussed current regional developments and a number of issues of mutual interest."
"During the call, Aoun welcomed the understanding reached between Iran and the United States," expressing his "hope that it would constitute a positive step towards reducing tensions and opening the way for diplomatic solutions that contribute to strengthening security and stability at both the regional and international levels."
According to the statement "The importance of continuing political and diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing sustainable stability in the region was also emphasized, which will positively impact its countries and peoples."
During the call, Aoun stressed that "Lebanon's stability, security, and sovereignty remain a national priority."
For his part, Araqhchi stressed "the importance of respecting Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity by all parties," expressing his "hope that the positive atmosphere created by this understanding will contribute to supporting stability in Lebanon and enhancing its chances of recovery and prosperity."
