Senior Deputy Interior Minister Hussein Al-Awadi on Wednesday called for maintaining the highest levels of vigilance and readiness during Eid al-Ghadir pilgrimage in Najaf province.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that Al-Awadi met with Najaf Governor Youssef Maki Kannaoui and Provincial Council Chairman Hussein Al-Issawi, in the presence of several security commanders, to discuss the implementation of the organizational plan for commemorating Eid al-Ghadir.
It added that βthe meeting reviewed the key components of the joint security and service plan, and discussed mechanisms to enhance high-level coordination between security forces, service departments, and health institutions in the province, as well as the Holy Alawi Shrine, in order to ensure the smooth flow of pilgrims arriving from inside and outside Iraq.β
Al-Awadi stressed that the Ministry of Interior has mobilized all its human and logistical resources to support security units in the province, directing that the highest levels of alertness and readiness be maintained and that humanitarian services and facilitations be provided to ensure the success of the mass pilgrimage.
For his part, Governor Youssef Kannaoui praised the continued support provided by the Ministry of Interior, affirming the integration of security and service plans in the province to receive and organize the large influx of pilgrims smoothly.
