Iraqi Airways announced on Monday the launch of its seasonal Umrah flight operations to Saudi Arabia's holy sites.

The Ministry of Transport said in a statement that, under the supervision and follow-up of Transport Minister Wahb Al-Hassani, the state-owned carrier has begun implementing two operational plans simultaneously.

The first plan involves reverse pilgrimage flights to repatriate Iraqi Hajj pilgrims following the completion of their religious rites, while the second consists of seasonal Umrah flights to Saudi Arabia, scheduled to commence on Tuesday.

Iraqi Airways Director General Manaf Abdul Munim Ajil said the national carrier's ability to manage both operations concurrently reflects the airline's technical and operational readiness, as well as the capabilities of its specialized workforce.

He added that the airline is capable of handling multiple aviation operations within an integrated system, ensuring that all domestic and international flights are conducted in accordance with the highest standards of safety, precision and operational compliance, without affecting scheduled departure times.
