PM Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi received on Wednesday the British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations and the importance of strengthening and expanding cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries, according to a statement from the PM Media Office, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The Prime Minister renewed, on behalf of the Government and people of Iraq, his congratulations to Andy Burnham on assuming office as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
They discussed the developments unfolding across the region.
“There is a need for sustained regional and international efforts to resolve crises through dialogue and communication, to prevent the continuation of the war that threatens the security and stability of the region and the world,” he highlighted.
