An informed source said on Sunday that the exchange of draft understandings between Iran and the United States is ongoing, in response to media reports claiming that U.S. President Donald Trump had introduced new amendments to the current draft of a potential agreement between the two sides.
The source told Iran’s Tasnim News Agency that Tehran will also introduce its own amendments and observations to the proposed text and submit them to Washington, stressing that negotiations have not yet reached a final formula and that “nothing has been finalized at this stage.”
The source added that Iran’s benchmark is reaching an agreement that aligns with its vision and interests, noting that U.S. amendments do not necessarily imply Iranian approval or automatic acceptance.
It further stated that Tehran is also prepared for the scenario of failing to reach an agreement, emphasizing its full readiness to deal with various possible outcomes related to the ongoing negotiation process.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in remarks to reporters on Sunday that negotiations and exchanges of messages with the U.S. side are still ongoing, stressing that no judgment can be made until a clear outcome is reached.
