Tasnim News Agency reported on Sunday that Iran, in its response to the U.S. proposal, demanded guarantees against any future attacks and an end to the naval blockade.
The Iranian agency quoted a source as saying that “the text of the response stresses lifting sanctions, ending the war on all fronts, and Iran’s management of the Strait of Hormuz,” noting that “the Iranian response underscores the need to immediately end the war and provide guarantees against renewed aggression.”
It added that “the Iranian response stressed the necessity of ending the naval blockade on Iran immediately upon signing the preliminary understanding,” indicating that “Iran confirmed in its response the cancellation of OFAC sanctions related to the sale of Iranian oil within 30 days.”
The report noted that “the text of the Iranian response stresses the release of frozen Iranian assets simultaneously with the preliminary understanding,” adding that “the Iranian response refers to the implementation of some U.S. measures within a period of 30 days.”
