National Security Adviser Qassim al-Araji stated on Wednesday that risk governance has become a strategic necessity for Iraqi institutions.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Araji said that rapid developments and successive crises in the region have imposed economic, security, and political challenges that threaten institutional stability and business continuity.
"These events have reflected on several sectors, whether through their impact on energy markets, trade and investment movement, or supply chains," al-Araji stated.
The National Security Adviser emphasized that these pressures have heightened the need for effective risk management systems based on early forecasting, threat analysis, and the development of flexible response plans to mitigate the impact of crises.
Al-Araji concluded that risk governance has become an essential tool for supporting decision-making and enhancing institutional readiness to ensure sustainability and performance within a challenging regional environment.
