President Amedi, Al-Nahj Al-Watani MPs stress need to resolve constitutional entitlements

President of the Republic Nizar Amedi and MPs from the Al-Nahj Al-Watani parliamentary bloc on Wednesday stressed the need to resolve constitutional entitlements.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the bloc’s media office said members of the Al-Nahj Al-Watani bloc, headed by MP Hassan al-Assadi, met President Amedi in the presence of Justice Minister Khaled Shwani, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan bloc head Harem Kamal, and a number of other lawmakers.

The head and members of the bloc renewed, according to the statement, their congratulations to Amedi on assuming the presidency, stressing the importance of maintaining balance among the authorities and strengthening democratic processes in a way that contributes to consolidating stability at various levels.

The statement added that the meeting discussed the latest developments on the Iraqi scene and the need for coordination between the legislative and executive branches to reinforce harmony and complementarity in lawmaking and the activation of oversight functions.

It noted that there are ongoing efforts to resolve constitutional entitlements, leading to the formation of a capable government able to overcome internal and external challenges, ultimately achieving stability and improving levels of development, reconstruction and services in line with citizens’ aspirations.
