Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran on Thursday for an official visit.
A reporter for the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi arrived in Iran on an official visit, heading a high-level ministerial delegation."
Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi confirmed on Thursday that his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran will include discussions on issues of mutual interest and strengthening bilateral cooperation with senior Iranian officials.
Al-Zaidi stated in a post on the "X" platform, which was monitored by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We are heading to Tehran on an official visit. We will meet with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran to discuss issues of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and ongoing efforts to consolidate security and stability across the region."
He added, “Iraq and Iran are bound by historic and civilizational ties, shared borders, and common interests. These enduring bonds call for continued engagement in a spirit of dialogue, cooperation, and mutual respect in a manner that promotes sustainable development and prosperity for the peoples of both countries, while contributing to security and stability at the regional and international levels."
