US President Donald Trump revealed on Tuesday that there is behind-the-scenes talk with Iran.
In a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart, Joseph Aoun, at the White House, Trump said, as followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “There is behind-the-scenes talk with the Iranians. They are seeking a meeting with me, and we are not interested in meeting with them.”
He added, “There is behind-the-scenes talk with Iran, and they want to end this because they are being destroyed.” He added, “We will not be interested in that until they are ready to meet in a meaningful way.”
He further stated, “We are working to significantly undermine Iran’s capabilities,” emphasizing that “Iran cannot and will not possess a nuclear weapon, and we have significantly weakened its capabilities.”
