The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan, called on the Director of the General Traffic Directorate, Lieutenant General Uday Samir, on Sunday to enhance preparedness for the Arba'een pilgrimage and streamline procedures for citizens.

The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Adnan Faihan, met with the Director of the General Traffic Directorate, Lieutenant General Uday Samir, in the presence of several members of Parliament to discuss the current state of the General Traffic Directorate's operations, review its future plans, and address the most significant challenges it faces. They also discussed ways to support its efforts and improve its performance through the relevant parliamentary committees. "

"Fayhan stressed the importance of intensifying preparations at the main entry points to the provinces that will witness the influx of pilgrims for the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) to facilitate traffic flow and reduce congestion during the massive pilgrimage." He also emphasized the necessity of simplifying administrative procedures and reducing bureaucracy in traffic departments to ensure that citizens' transactions are completed as quickly as possible.

Fayhan further affirmed the importance of continuing efforts to combat bribery and corruption and to promote traffic awareness and culture to protect citizens' lives and reinforce adherence to traffic rules and public safety.
