Finance Minister Faleh Sari affirmed on Saturday that the International Monetary Fund's (IMF) praise for the reforms being implemented by the Iraqi government reflects growing international confidence in the Iraqi economy,He emphasized the continued implementation of reform programs to bolster financial stability and support sustainable development.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the minister said, "The meeting between the government delegation, headed by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Washington, D.C., represents a significant milestone in strengthening the partnership between Iraq and the IMF and supporting the economic and financial reforms being implemented by the government."

It added that "the IMF Managing Director's praise for the reform measures, particularly in the areas of fiscal reform, combating corruption, and diversifying revenue sources, reflects growing international confidence in the Iraqi economy and in the government's steps aimed at building a more diversified and sustainable economy."

Sari noted that "the Ministry of Finance continues to implement its reform programs in coordination with national entities and international partners, which contributes to strengthening financial stability, improving the efficiency of public financial management, enhancing the investment climate, and enabling the private sector to play a greater role in achieving sustainable economic development."
