Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi held talks today, Thursday, in Houston, Texas, at the headquarters of the engineering and technology company KBR, in the presence of the Minister of Oil, the Minister of Electricity, the Chairman of the PM Advisory Commission, a number of advisers, and the Iraqi Ambassador to Washington.

“During the meeting, Prime Minister Al-Zaidi outlined the government’s priorities and its vision for development and economic reform through increasing oil production, enhancing Iraq’s export capacity through diversified export routes, expanding refining capacity, and achieving self-sufficiency in petroleum products, petrochemicals, and natural gas,” stated the Media Office of the Prime Minister in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.

“The Prime Minister stated that Iraq’s investment environment has reached a level that qualifies it to attract technological solutions and financing partnerships with U.S. companies across various sectors,” the statement added.

The statement confirmed that “Prime Minister Al-Zaidi also highlighted a number of outstanding investment opportunities in the fields of energy, mining, and the development of additional natural resource assets, as well as the broad opportunities in the services sector to meet the needs of the Iraqi people and address the challenges facing the country”.

The statement further stated that” The Prime Minister stressed that the government is moving forward with strengthening stability and ending any presence of weapons outside the authority of the state by the end of next September”.

The Prime Minister also affirmed the government’s readiness to allocate land for investment industrial and petrochemical facilities along the strategic oil pipeline corridor, in parallel with the Development Road corridor, in order to accelerate implementation, facilitate operations and production, complete pipeline networks, develop human capital, and attract and further develop national expertise.
