Supreme Judicial Council JSC announced on Thursday the seizure of an additional IQD 25 billion in the case involving Adnan Al-Jumaili, Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs.
Investigative Judge Dhiaa Jaafar said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that new sums of money had been seized as part of the ongoing investigation into the detained suspect, Adnan Al-Jumaili, Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining Affairs.
He added that part of the seized funds had been deposited with several individuals, while the remaining amounts were discovered concealed inside the walls of a number of houses. The total assets recovered amount to IQD 25 billion, USD 200,000, and 4 kilograms of gold jewelry.
Jaafar further noted that the investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue efforts to trace the proceeds of the alleged crime and identify all those involved.
