Iranian media outlets reported on Wednesday that several locations across southern Iran were targeted by U.S. attacks, as air defense systems were activated around the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
According to Mehr News Agency, Qeshm Island was struck by U.S. projectiles. Tasnim News Agency reported that the attacks also targeted Qeshm Island, Hengam Island and the southern port city of Bandar Abbas in Hormozgan province.
Fars News Agency reported explosions in the southeastern cities of Bampur and Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
Meanwhile, Mehr said air defenses had been activated in the vicinity of the Bushehr nuclear power plant. Iran's official IRNA news agency reported an explosion on Hengam Island before later confirming another blast in Bandar Abbas in southern Iran.
