Trump: US will do ‘a lot’ of deals with Iraq

Trump said on Tuesday during a press conference at the White House that the US would be doing a lot of deals with Iraq and taking a lot of oil out of the country, after a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaid at the Oval Office.

He also said that the US would be there for Iraq if it needed protection, without indicating what would prompt this.

Meanwhile, Zaid said that Iraq needed a "fair share" within the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) when asked by reporters if he was considering leaving the group.

"Iraq is one of the founding members of Opec... Our right is to receive a fair share for Iraq," he told reporters at the White House.
