Morning update

Good morning Middle East Eye readers,

Fresh US attacks were reported across Iran, despite recent remarks by US President Donald Trump suggesting that a deal with Tehran was still "possible".

Elsewhere, the Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed attacks across the region, targeting vessels, military bases and infrastructure, as well as radar systems.

Here are the latest developments:

US President Donald Trump said he wanted Gulf countries to reimburse Washington for helping "protect the Strait of Hormuz".

The UAE Ministry of Defence said that two national vessels were targeted by two Iranian cruise missiles in the southern lane of the Strait of Hormuz, killing one Indian crew member and wounding eight others - including four seriously. According to the statement, the attack occurred in Omani territorial waters.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that two "offending supertankers" were hit and disabled in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the IRGC, the vessels were struck after they ignored warning, turned off navigation systems and attempted to pass through "a mined route".

A missile targeted a site belonging to an Iranian Kurdish opposition group east of Iraq's Erbil, Reuters reported citing security sources.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz during a tour of northern Gaza said that the widespread destruction in the besieged enclave gives him a "good feeling". He also announced plans to establish three military-linked settlement outposts in the Strip.
