The Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Adnan Faihan al-Dulaimi, affirmed on Monday that Iraq attaches great importance to strengthening its relations with brotherly and friendly countries.
“Faihan received the Chargé d'Affaires of the Kingdom of Norway to Iraq, Alexander Lerfel, and his accompanying delegation to discuss the latest developments in the local political scene, the challenges facing the region, and their repercussions on regional and international peace and security,” said the media office of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Faihan affirmed that "Iraq, based on its approach of adopting a balanced foreign policy, attaches great importance to strengthening its relations with brotherly and friendly countries, and possesses the will to develop aspects of cooperation with the European Union, reflecting its orientation towards opening up to European markets within the framework of its vision to diversify oil export outlets."
He emphasized "its keenness to expand cooperation with Norway in various fields, in a way that contributes to strengthening security and stability, supporting sustainable development paths, and achieving common interests."
In turn, the Norwegian Chargé d'Affaires praised "the positive developments that Iraq is witnessing at the political and developmental levels," expressing "his country's keenness to continue strengthening cooperation with Iraqi institutions and developing the bilateral partnership in a way that serves the efforts of construction and development and strengthens relations between the two countries."
