The US military carried out strikes near the Strait of Hormuz, Axios reported Sunday.
The website quoted a US official as saying, "The US military launched strikes an hour ago against missile systems, air defenses, and small boats belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard at two locations near the Strait of Hormuz."
Earlier on Sunday, Fars News Agency reported hearing several explosions east of Bandar Abbas and in the maritime area of Qeshm Island in southern Iran.
