Irani and Oman discuss safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Omani counterpart, Badr Al Busaidi, discussed on Saturday the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding.

Al-Busaidi affirmed to Araghchi “Oman's principled stance on relying on diplomacy to prevent any escalation in the region," according to a statement by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Omani Foreign Minister expressed “his hope that the regional security situation would improve through the full implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding."

Araghchi and Al-Busaidi discussed “bilateral relations and regional developments, particularly the issue of the Strait of Hormuz,” as they exchanged views “on the safe passage of ships through the Strait, in accordance with Article 5 of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the United States."
