The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, affirmed on Saturday that there will be no leniency or tolerance for anyone proven guilty of attacking public funds, while indicating that he supports the judiciary and the government in pursuing and holding corrupt individuals accountable.
Sayyid Al-Hakim said in a post on the (x) platform, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “there will be no leniency or tolerance for anyone proven guilty of attacking public funds.”
He continued, "We support the judiciary and the government in pursuing and holding corrupt individuals accountable, regardless of their positions or affiliations, and in applying the law to everyone without exception," noting that "affiliation or position will not be a reason to escape accountability once guilt is proven by law."
Sayyid Al-Hakim renewed his call for a "public trial of the top corrupt officials".
