The Ministry of Transportation confirmed on Friday that Iraqi airspace is witnessing a significant increase in the number of flights transiting the country.

"More than 60 airplanes crossed Iraqi airspace smoothly during the first five hours of the morning," said a statement from the Ministry, reported by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

The statement added that "Iraqi airspace is witnessing a significant increase in the number of flights transiting the country, resulting in time and cost savings," emphasizing that "air traffic was handled with utmost professionalism by Iraqi air traffic controllers."

"All requirements of airlines have been met in accordance with international air safety standards, through new, direct, and shorter air corridors. These measures contribute significantly to the gradual return of air traffic while ensuring the continued adherence to these standards," according to the statement.
