The popular funeral procession for the body of martyr Sayyed Ali Khamenei began on Wednesday from the Kufa Overpass in the holy city of Najaf, drawing mass crowds of mourners.
Thousands of citizens took part in the funeral procession.
The official funeral ceremonies for martyr Sayyed Ali Khamenei commenced on Tuesday evening in Najaf Governorate.
Earlier,According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Media Office, Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi attended the official reception ceremony for the body of the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Senior Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, in the city of Najaf. The ceremony was also attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the accompanying delegation, along with representatives of Iraq's political, religious, tribal and public communities.
