Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi affirmed to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday the necessity of exercising caution and precision in dealings at all regional and international levels to consolidate stability and end conflicts.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Najaf on Tuesday; President Pezeshkian arrived at the head of an official delegation to participate in the funeral ceremonies for the late Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may God sanctify his soul)."
According to the statement, al-Zaidi reiterated his condolences to the Iranian people and government on the martyrdom of Sayyid Khamenei, emphasizing the depth of relations between the two countries and the commitment to strengthening and enhancing them in various fields.
He also stressed the importance of exercising caution and precision in dealings at all regional and international levels to consolidate stability and end conflicts.
For his part, Pezeshkian expressed his country's gratitude for the honorable stance of the Iraqi government and people, praising "the significant efforts and facilities provided for holding the funeral ceremonies."
He reiterated pride in the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations and extended "an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran to further strengthen cooperation and partnership in facing challenges."
