National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Aboudi affirmed on Tuesday that the Al-Zaidi government supports openness to the world to attract investments.
The National Security Advisor's media office stated in a press release received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Aboudi received the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Iraq, Daniel Krieber."
According to the statement, the meeting addressed "strengthening cooperation between the two countries in all fields, particularly combating terrorism and exchanging security and intelligence information, in addition to exploring ways to develop friendly relations between the two countries."
During the meeting, Al-Aboudi emphasized "the importance of unifying the efforts of the international community to eliminate terrorism and extremist ideology," noting that "Iraq has made sacrifices in confronting the ISIS terrorist organization and fought on behalf of the world and the international community, taking bold steps, including receiving captured terrorists." He emphasized that "Iraq is committed to its constitution, which prohibits the use of its territory to attack any country, and that it adheres to international laws regarding freedom of navigation and trade." He affirmed that "the government of Ali Faleh al-Zaidi supports openness to all countries of the world to attract investments and improve the country's economy."
For his part, the German ambassador congratulated the National Security Advisor on assuming his post, stressing the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries and working together to combat terrorism and exchange information.
He noted that "Iraq plays a significant role in regional stability," and commended Iraq's efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote peace in the region.
