Iraqi Airways announced on Monday the launch of its direct flights between Kirkuk and Antalya starting from July 14.

A statement issued by Iraqi Airways and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) indicated that "the company has launched a new route from Kirkuk Airport to the Turkish city of Antalya, coinciding with the summer holiday season and the increasing number of travelers."

According to the statement, the company's Director General, Munaf Abdul-Munim, said, "The new phase of operation will consist of two flights per week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, to give passengers ample opportunity to book seats to one of the most prominent Turkish tourist destinations on the Mediterranean."

It added, "In line with the directives of the Minister of Transport, Wahab Al-Hassani, we are working to expand the national carrier's network of destinations and provide more flexible travel options to meet the increasing demand for travel during the summer season."
