President Nizar Amedi arrived in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Friday.

The media office of the President of the Republic stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the President of the Republic arrived in Tehran to participate in the funeral and farewell ceremonies for the martyr, Sayyid Ali Khamenei."

The statement indicated that "the President of the Republic is scheduled to meet, as part of the visit, with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and a number of officials, to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and the two friendly peoples."
