The Ministry of Trade affirmed on Thursday its commitment to developing economic and trade relations with Jordan.
A statement issued by the ministry and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) indicated that "Minister of Trade Mustafa Nizar Al-Ani met with Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Falah Al-Qudah to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two brotherly countries and develop partnership prospects to serve mutual interests."
"Al-Ani welcomed his Jordanian counterpart at the beginning of the meeting," emphasizing that "Iraq is your second home, reflecting the depth of the fraternal and historical ties that bind the two brotherly peoples. " the statement added.
Al-Ani stressed "the Ministry of Trade's commitment to developing economic and trade relations with Jordan and working to support the economies of both countries by expanding areas of joint cooperation and strengthening partnerships between economic institutions."
He also pointed to the importance of simplifying procedures and removing obstacles to facilitate the flow of trade and increase the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Jordan, in line with the aspirations of the leadership in both countries.
Al-Ani extended an official invitation to the Jordanian side to participate in the upcoming Baghdad International Fair, expressing his hope that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's participation would be distinguished and effective.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Ya'rub Falah al-Qudah, extended an official invitation to Minister of Trade Mustafa Nizar al-Ani to visit Jordan, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the two sides and strengthening economic and trade cooperation to serve the common interests of the two brotherly countries.
