A massive forest fire broke out in southern France, forcing dozens of people to evacuate their homes, according to the emergency services.
Hundreds of firefighters were deployed to combat the blaze in the Hérault and Aude regions, which was fueled by drought and strong winds.
This fire comes a year after major fires in the Corbières region and just days after a deadly heatwave swept across large parts of Europe, with another heatwave expected.
By late evening, the fire had consumed 800 hectares, according to the regional administration.
