The Baghdad International Airport administration confirmed on Wednesday that the fire circulating on social media was far from the airport's operational facilities and has been extinguished.

In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the administration said, "The fire that was circulating on some social media pages was far from the airport's operational facilities. Civil defense teams and relevant authorities dealt with it immediately, and it was completely brought under control without any impact on airport facilities or the safety of passengers and staff."

The statement added, "Air traffic and navigation at Baghdad International Airport are proceeding normally and regularly. Takeoffs, landings, and flight schedules have not experienced any delays or changes as a result of this isolated incident."

The statement continued, "The airport administration urges all media outlets and social media users to exercise accuracy and journalistic integrity in reporting, and to obtain information from official and authorized sources, in order to avoid spreading inaccurate news that may cause anxiety and confusion among citizens and travelers."
